Hard Choices

Hard Choices was a quick engagement activity created in collaboration with the DC Office of Planning for the neighborhood of Penn Ave East in Washinton D.C. It launched in September of 2021 as a part of the Penn Ave East project.

By rolling the dice and scan the question with the matching number, players were given the opportunity to share their thoughts on 10 important planning questions for their local neighborhood. Of course, they could scan into any of the questions if they wanted to! In this way, we created a playful way for local residents to engage with real plans in their local neighborhood and impact how funding ($500k!) could be used in the upcoming years (for local businesses, local art, housing, and more). Participants were given prizes as extra insentives to play.
